The Timstock Story
Timstock is a family run company with over 150 years experience in the Victorian Baking Industry. From modest beginnings in 1860 when Benjamin Stockdale opened a bakery in Fitzroy to 1989 when Colin Stockdale started Timstock Trading House, the Stockdale family has been a mainstay of the Victorian Baking Industry.
The Stockdale Chronology
1860 – Benjamin Stockdale opens a bakery in Fitzroy. Eventually moves to South Yarra
1971 – After 4 generations of bakers Stan Stockdale leaves the bakery. With his son Colin he starts Biwell Wholesalers, supplying milk bars and nursing homes
1976 – Stan and Colin start IWG (Independent Wholesale Grocers), suppliers of pastry cook and baking supplies.
1989 – IWG is sold and Colin starts Timstock Trading House, which has grown today to have Victoria’s largest range of ambient and chilled ingredients and has become the preferred supplier of the Victorian Baking Industry
The Tradition Continues
Today, the Stockdale family continues it’s proud tradition. We currently employ over 30 staff at our Dingley warehouse. With over 2000 square metres of warehouse space and a custom made fleet of trucks, we’re waiting to give you the premium service we’ve given the Victorian Baking Industry for over 150 years.
