Timstock
Trading House Pty Ltd, based in Cheltenham, is a major supplier
to Bakers and Pastrycooks. Also serviced are butchers, restaurants,
social clubs, church groups, cafes, and co-operatives. Timstock
delivers it's products on it's own company owned fleet, plus one
captive Contractor, and uses top of the range carriers for the occasional
country delivery which is not directly done.
Over two thousand lines are held, providing just about everything
for the professional baker and pastrycook.
The
company has been in existence for two generations, originally being
Bakers, and has evolved into it's current format from 1989. There
is a wealth of technical and practical knowledge in the Company,
with a total of 268 years of bakery industry experience shared amongst
the 26 staff. This is an AVERAGE of 10 years per person. Timstock
even has a Customer Support officer who, as a qualified baker, assists
with any technical problems or questions the customers may have.
Even with this wealth of history and experience, Timstock is completely
updating and renewing itself in keeping with the more technological
aspect of today's business world. Some of these major internal changes,
include new procedures, upgraded computer facilities, staff training,
the introduction of OH & S Policies, a Food Safety Plan (HACCP
based), and the design and implementation of Quality Accreditation.
Most of the changes that Timstock is introducing are very exciting,
with a revamping of the warehouse already underway, and the design
of a very clever website which will display the regular monthly
specials, product lists, an on-line ordering system, contact points,
and general information. New delivery runs and Area Manager's zones
have been implemented, and customers now have a greater continuity
of contact.
During these changes, which should be completely finalised by about
March of next year, every effort has, and is being made to minimise
any inconvenience to customers, and to make the turnovers as "seamless"
as possible.
In relation to customer requirements, Timstock makes every effort
to meet the needs, including the procurement of items which the
Company does not usually stock. Staff turnover is minimal, so training
and knowledge levels are up, and customers are encouraged to have
a friendly, first name basis with all staff.
Timstock has Vietnamese speaking staff to assist with communication
and ordering for our Vietnamese Customers.
The basis for these systems in the ongoing improvement to customer
service, and a growth in the customer base. Timstock has always
had a good customer service philosophy, and was awarded a "Highly
Commended" certificate in 2000 Australian Achiever Awards.
This is held with pride by the Company, and will be sought again
in ensuing years. However, this is certainly NOT the end of their
plan of Progressive Improvement, and they are targeting a significantly
better set of systems for the new year. The eventual aim is to have
a sold base of totally catered for and well-serviced customers,
which will be maintained by a steady, well trained, and highly professional
staff.
